    As a member of the centralized center of excellence set up by Region, the Intern will partner with the Manager to learn more about and support assortment and space planning for all Tiffany & Co. products to maximize sales.


    The Intern supports next-generation Merchandising to assist in the execution of dynamic and discrete assortments for all stores, including e-commerce and wholesale.  He/she executes productive distribution plans and ensures efficient retail space to support the assortment to enhance the customer experience and drive sales, turn, and sales by pad.  In addition, the Intern implements initial new product distribution plans that are productive and aligned with category objectives.


    The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, cross functional team experience as well as a keen interest in retail, product strategy and the application of artificial intelligence to merchandising.


    Next-generation assortment planning

    • Support the application of artificial intelligence to assortment planning with dynamic updates
    • Participate and prepare for cross-functional alignment meetings in support of assortment optimization
    • Ensure assortment plans maximize sales and productivity, balanced with category objectives and space planning considerations

    New product introduction

    • Set productive new product assortment plans 8-12 months from launch, ensuring consistency, accuracy and timeliness
    • Distort baseline assortment based on known market specifics for Region; six months after launch, review and update using AI
    • Partner with Manager to understand and help inform, convince, then listen to regional feedback

    Space planning

    • Ensure space allocation by collection by store is productive and supports the assortment plan
    • Assist with CVM, Store Design and PPM collaboration on new store space planning, inclusive of category distortions
    • Share assortment and space perspective with CVM and CM for product directive planning

    Team Support

    • Assist across Global Assortment Planning Team as a shared resource
    • Remain flexible as priorities shift and exemplify a keen ability to multitask
    • Analyze, develop and maintain productive worldwide assortments and perform regular analysis to determine and bring forward new opportunities
    • Practice strong, clear communication with all partners, including cross-functional teams as a representative of Global Assortment Planning


    Required Qualifications:

    • Overall knowledge/experience in the workings of retail business practices

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate productively and ability to lead in a team environment

    • Proficiency in MS Excel and core planning apps

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of retail math
