    Tiffany & Co. is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our team within our Parsippany, NJ location. As part of our Enterprise Information Management team, the candidate will demonstrate a successful track record of leading Data Engineering project and enhancement efforts on an AWS platform in support of Data and Analytics initiatives. This role will be responsible for leading and coordinating activities with project and support teams to ensure soundness and stability in all facets of the Tiffany EDH (Enterprise Data Hub) environment.


    • Act as technical subject matter expert including mentorship of engineering team via design reviews, code reviews, etc.
    • Responsibility for technical development and support related to Tiffany’s Enterprise Data Hub (EDH – AWS-based data management platform).
    • Assist with development and implementation of a strategy for migrating key data and functionality from our legacy Enterprise Data Warehouse solution to our Enterprise Data Hub, so that the EDW can be retired.
    • Influence and support the technical direction for the team, driving the necessary changes and recommending appropriate technology choices working collaboratively with the Architecture, Platform, and DevOps teams.
    • Work with key business functions (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Finance) to analyze business requests and translate them into data requirements.
    • Become the data subject matter expert for key business functions and ensure architecture and designs meet business needs.
    • Collaborate with business leads to continuously inform the EDH strategy and roadmap.
    • Collaborate with and guide resources from consulting partners (onsite and offshore), communicate architecture standards and best practices, establish a high impact development process, drive excellence in all deliverables.
    • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define technical requirements and design based on the business requirements.
    • Lead the shift towards a DevOps mentality for the Data Engineering function, emphasizing continuous integration, release management and automated testing to maximize development agility and improve time to market.
    • Establish daily cadence with M&E team to prioritize and execute work items.
    • Coordinate activities between onsite and offshore teams, ensuring efficient resolution to incidents, and timely prioritization and completion of work in the backlog.
    • Track existing and new items reported for prioritization.
    • Ensure EDH environment is running daily jobs successfully.
    • Provide analysis on reported data quality issues or defects.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding coordination of activities, impact analyses, enhancement and remediation execution planning, and progress updates.
    • Engage business function leadership to understand their needs and consult on possible solutions.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors to determine technical competence and identify integration opportunities.

    • Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence in deliverables.
    • Ability to collaborate, propose solutions, and advise on the best course of action.
    • Communicate accurately, concisely and with tact and diplomacy when appropriate.
    • Be conscientious, reliable and inquisitive with a keen desire to learn, not just gain the knowledge necessary for the job but also the underlying reasons and drivers.


    • BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years of experience in an analytics/engineering role preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience and knowledge of SDLC.
    • 2+ years of experience working directly with business partners with track record of success.
    • 2+ years of experience leading an offshore team in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment, with responsibilities in data integrations and data platform development and support.
    • An understanding of large scale computing solutions, including software design and development, and database architectures.
    • Knowledge of cloud security, orchestration, management.
    • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.


    Preferred Skills and Experience:
    • Experience with enterprise level data warehouse technology, such as Redshift, Netezza, Teradata, Snowflake, etc.
    • Experience with CDC technologies, such as Informatica Power Exchange
    • Experience with big data ETL technologies, such as Informatica BDM, Informatica Power Center
    • Experience with messaging technologies, such as IIB
    • Experience with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
    • Experience with AWS environment.
    • Strong SQL skills and experience.
    • Experience working in Global Retail Industry
