The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is responsible for identifying and implementing efficiencies within the manufacturing process. The ME partners with Manufacturing and Engineering to make recommendations and develop improvements in facility layout, equipment, and manufacturing process. The ME manages relevant projects and utilizes Lean principles to ensure the highest levels of efficiency. Greater than 50% of the ME's work day should be spent on the manufacturing production floor.
Manufacturing Support: Support Manufacturing in problem solving by analyzing labor, flow, productivity, measurement system & equipment performance, etc. proactively and reactively based on business needs. Responsible for developing or maintaining work standards for various operational job functions and processes. Create analytical & statistical tools, database queries, reports and related items to aid this effort, Recommend workflow, equipment, facility layout changes, or other changes based on analysis.
Lean manufacturing: Identify areas for the introduction/ improvement of Lean/SS manufacturing processes. Make recommendations for best practices, process optimization and waste reduction, performance measurement. Deliverables include waste reduction, and/or improved efficiencies within manufacturing.
Project Management: Define scope, schedule, and means of implementation for industrial engineering projects. Facilitate project team meetings, updates, research, and the presentation of relevant analysis and materials. Utilize core understanding of engineering processes to assist in integration of technical solutions into existing processes.
Product costing: Identify opportunities within the manufacturing process for cost reduction through improved efficiencies.
