  • Overview

    The Manager, Climate & Environment works with the Director, Global Sustainability and key internal functions to drive Tiffany’s global energy & climate strategy and the company’s environmental strategy more broadly. The Manager will be responsible for advancing the company’s approach, for developing business cases, and for facilitating cross-functional collaboration to support implementation and help the company achieve its energy, climate and environmental goals. The Manager, Climate & Environment partners with key internal functions such as Real Estate, Finance, Retail, Manufacturing, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and Responsible Sourcing to provide input on various environmental initiatives, and participates in external engagements and collaborations as relevant. The Manager reports to the Director, Global Sustainability.

    Responsibilities

    Energy & Climate:

    • Drive and advance the company’s global energy and climate strategy and goals in line with our Net Zero leadership ambitions
    • Monitor trends, developments and innovations in the field, translate these into strategies to evolve the company’s approach and develop new ideas to ensure continued leadership
    • Drive and evolve the company’s work in the following areas:
      • Scope 3 emissions strategy and inventory
      • Global renewable energy and carbon offset strategies (drawing on different mechanisms including vPPAs, green tariffs / utility programs, global energy attributes and RECs, offsets)
      • Climate governance and climate risk assessment and management
    • Provide strategic input and ongoing feedback on the company’s approach in the following areas:
      • Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions mitigation efforts driven by Real Estate
      • Scope 3 reduction efforts, driven by Responsible Sourcing
      • Sustainable building strategies for office, retail and manufacturing, including LEED certification, driven by Real Estate and Manufacturing
    • Translate strategies into plans and initiatives, assess the business case and model impacts, including financials
    • Prepare presentations for and engage with leadership and key internal functions to build buy-in
    • Drive execution of plans and initiatives, in collaboration with key internal functions
    • Lead the company’s approach to climate disclosure and reporting, including:
      • Tracking trends and evolving the current approach
      • Managing annual response to the CDP Climate questionnaire in partnership with Manager, Sustainability Reporting and key internal functions
    • Collaborate with Manager, Sustainability Reporting, to track environmental metrics and progress towards goals

     

    Other Environmental Aspects:

    • Contribute to the company’s overall global environmental strategy and goals
    • Provide strategic input and feedback on the company’s approach to:
      • Waste reduction and water stewardship efforts
      • Removing deforestation from key supply chains, including sustainable wood and paper sourcing
      • Sustainable packaging
      • Biodiversity & ecosystems impacts

     

    Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Work in close collaboration with the Sustainability Team and key internal functions such as Real Estate, Finance, Retail, Manufacturing, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Responsible Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance and Legal
    • Engage with external partners, including NGOs, and participate in collaborations related to the company’s climate and environmental commitments

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability, and/or environmental subject area including Climate Change, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Safety and Occupational Health, or similar
    • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience from a CSR/sustainability, energy and climate or similar role in the private sector, an NGO working with business, or a top-tier consulting firm
    • Proven experience managing and executing a private sector organization’s energy & climate strategy to reduce climate impacts, including:
      • Sustainable building practices
      • Scope 3 emissions strategy and inventory
      • Renewable energy and carbon offset strategies
      • Climate governance and climate risk assessment and management
    • Excellent grasp of sustainability, environmental and climate-related concepts and issues more broadly, including energy and climate strategies and best practices, sustainable building strategies, science-based targets, climate risk assessment and management, GHG accounting, Carbon Disclosure Project, Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure, other emerging trends and concepts
    • Proven ability to develop business cases, model impacts, including financial implications, and build buy-in and climate competency
    • Familiarity with academic, government and NGOs active in the climate change and environmental ecosystem
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills for interaction with leadership and key internal functions
    • Takes initiative and demonstrates ownership, works independently
    • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
    • Fluent in both written and conversational English
    • Ability to undertake business travel
    • Microsoft office skills are critical
    • Team player


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree 
    • Experience working in a luxury or other retail company with high-profile consumer brands
