  • Overview

    The Operations Assistant will be responsible for the initial receipt of all melee stones delivered to the Pelham Diamond Division. This position will also be responsible for inventory control of melee assets including cycle counting and distribution of melee stones to both internal and external manufacturing.


    • Perform the detailed systematic receipt/ transfer of all production diamonds using the J.D. Edwards system. Verify number of stones against memo/ transfer sheet to ensure accuracy. Confirm accuracy of total receipt value if applicable. Ensure accuracy while moving into the next phase according to the established CODC guidelines.
    • Perform Laurelton Polished Reclass for all Laurelton Diamonds. Perform sale and purchase transaction for all Joint Venture, Laurelton and Third Party memos according to established procedure.
    • Select stones from inventory to support the requirements of Manufacturing Work Orders, Virtual Vendor Bulk Picks, and Internal Requests. Complete consolidation of stones as required to meet demand and utilize instruments and scales to verify accuracy of stones. Perform the system transaction to issue/ transfer to the appropriate location. Prepare and package stones according to established procedure.
    • Perform the cycle counts of current inventory as required, to confirm inventory accuracy. Report any discrepancies to Management immediately.
    • Receive all NTQ/ RTV stones according to established procedure. Ensure shipments are organized, timely and accurate. As requested by Management, assist with various projects and tasks associated with the Pelham Diamond Division.
    • Adhere to all Diamond Division and Tiffany & Co. workplace policies and procedures and ensure that all safety measures and guidelines are followed throughout the Tiffany Gemological Lab.


    Required Qualifications: 

    •  Ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks, ability to work as part of a team or independently, solid written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate College Degree, Experience with J.D Edwards, Knowledge of Diamond Industry, Experience handling melee stones (sorting, weighing and picking).
