  • Overview

    Support new product development process by analyzing new product concepts and applying applicable requirements and standards. Evaluate prototypes and test runs against critical requirements ensuring comprehenive communication of results.


    Proto Creation Teamwork:

    • Evaluate prototypes and production test runs to ensure conformance to requirements.
    • Provide technical support for JRDC throughout the new product development process

    Standards and Compliance

    • Identify requirements applicable to all new products.
      • This includes safety, legal, workmanship, and functionalty standards.
    • Determine testing requirements and submit samples to MTL.
    • Analyze test results to determine acceptability of material or functionality.
    • Lead quality team in researching global regulatory requirements
      • Stay up to date on industry changes & research


    • Provide JRDC prototype shop and supplier support during prototyping to ensure requirements are being built into new products.


    • Complete quality and standards fields in Critical Requirement Document. Initiate JDE Evaluation record/report for prototype and PTR evaluation results.                                                            
    •  Record testing results in JDE QM Evaluation report.
    • Determine inspection criteria and enter in CRD.
    • Define control limits and document in CRD using annotated photos.


    • Ensure 3 way communication with engineering and R&D throughout evaluation period for prototypes and test runs. This includes ensuring team is aware of requirements associated for each new product and test samples request are timely.
    • Ensure Collaboration tool is updated and current in all communications.


    Required Qualifications

    • 2-4 years QA or manufacturing experience
    • Strong Communication Skills
    • Detail Oriented
    • Analytical
    • Normal color perception, passing color test, if required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ability to grade diamonds and colored stones set in jewelry
    • American Society for Quality Certification
    • Graduate Gemologist Diploma
