  • Overview

     

    The Seasonal Valuations Representative will work cross-functionally within Tiffany & Co. via telephone, electronic mail and Excel files for research purposes and to determine the current retail replacement value of merchandise. When necessary, this representative will proactively and reactively exercise good judgment regarding delicate situations or potential customer issues and work with management on an action plan. This individual will be organized, methodical, resourceful and must display the ability to think abstractly.

    Responsibilities

    • Exercise awareness of all service requests associated with the order to manage expected completion dates throughout all stages.
    • Research all systems and available resources to determine the most accurate methodology to establish a retail replacement value.
    • Ensure that orders are moved to the appropriate status/location, and that they are meeting the established turn around time.
    • Create documents with detailed descriptions for merchandise based on examination by applying knowledge of jewelry and gemological terminology.
    • Determine the best way to accurately price, state/disclose all factors encompassing the scenario of the request, and work with other divisions within Tiffany & Co. to proactively solve potential customer and pricing related conflicts.
    • Enclose corresponding documentation when necessary. Document order/customer specific information on the memo screen.
    • Follow up to ensure that departmental objectives are met and that day to day problems are resolved promptly.
    • Maintain the integrity of customer information by reviewing sales transaction history. Cultivate the integrity of gemstone information when grading gemstones using Tiffany & Co. systems and gemological expertise.
    • Respond to internal and external correspondence such as electronic mail, and incoming faxes within the established time frames. Anticipate responses in order to prevent unnecessary communication.
    • Support management by actively participating in meetings and projects as deemed by business needs. Proactively communicate production issues or concerns to management.
    • Organize and maintain research and educational material relating to Tiffany & Co. products, jewelry and appraisal subjects. Utilize these materials accordingly when completing valuation reports.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong initiative and the ability to work without constant direction.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining the highest degree of quality.
    • Ability to identify and provide resolution for areas in need of improvement.

     

    Desired

    • Customer Services/ Retail / Administrative background.
    • Bilingual in any other language.
    • Undergraduate Degree.
    • Jewelry industry experience.
