    The CNC Machine Operator I is responsible for the operation of a CNC Lathe or CNC Vertical Mill including rotary 4th axis operation in addition to basic 3 axis milling. Must have the ability to perform work accordingly to specifications and company quality standards.


    • Proficient in the use and basic maintenance of CNC Lathe or CNC Vertical Mill including 4th axis operation as well as 3 axis milling; this includes comprehension of either lathe or mill tool touch off procedure with understanding of tool compensation and wear offsets to deliver product within specification
    • Responsible for the changeover of product with basic set up including work holding fixtures, stops, datum offsets and indicators.  Monitors wear conditions on all cutting tools to determine replacement frequency
    • Ensures work area, machine tooling and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil deposits; maintains coolant and machine lubrication fluid systems, must use a refractometer
    • Receives work orders and verifies that the components are correct.  Regularly meets or exceeds production quotas
    • Proficient in the use of all types of inspection equipment including: verniers, gauges, optical equipment, comparator, mandrel, calipers etc. in order to ensure machined part accuracy. Confidently signing off true dimension checks against prints.
    • Operator must perform first piece and in-process inspection of product after set-up is completed for assurance of quality, dimensional accuracy, and aesthetics; minimizing scrap and defective product.
    • Operates various secondary and special purpose machines including drill presses and trademarking fixtures and mechanical presses along with performing deburring product and chip cleaning operations
    • Collaborates with management to identify root cause of problems without supervision and notifies CNC Machinist or Programmer of issues and updates for improvements.



    • 1-2 years of machining experience on CNC equipment

    • Use and basic maintenance either milling or turning machines

    • Good communication skills in English, including the ability to read, write and understand

    • Ability to read and Interpret drawings in order to hold work piece within tolerance

    • Excellent attention to detail

    • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork

    • Ability to drive others to exceed goals

    • Ability to work with limited supervision in a high volume, fast paced work atmosphere

    • Basic computer skills

    • Ability to work overtime as scheduled

    • High School diploma or equivalent


    • College-level Manufacturing/CNC Certification
