Responsibilities

The Team Lead- CNC 2nd shift is responsible for leading team members by identifying the capabilities of each member, assigning duties and leading by example. Ensure a smooth flow of work to all team members. Meet and understand the daily production requirements

 

  • Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures for the work area as identified by Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and company policy.  Promptly report all safety incidents and safety issues to the supervisor.
  • Lead understands and accomplishes the daily production and quality requirements for CNC team members. Know the capabilities of team members and ensure smooth flow of work into and out of the process.  Identify process issues and make suggestions for process improvements.  Notify manager/supervisor of any production issues as they arise.
  • Determine and implement cutting tool offsets, use MDI and assist with editing programs; evaluate and act upon machine alarms and error messages. Trouble shoots and repair equipment as needed.  Determine and implement alternative tooling approaches as needed.  Identify root cause of production and/or equipment issues and resolve without supervision.  Streamlines machining processes.
  • Lead Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts for the CNC department 
  • Lead technical cross training and development efforts for team members.
  • Responsible for quality inspection of all trainees’ work to ensure it meets critical requirements; includes measuring parts, and analyzing prints based on predefined requirements.

 

 

Qualifications

Required:

5+ years of machining experience on CNC equipment and related degree or equivalent combination of both

Set- up operation and basic maintenance of CNC and manual milling and/or turning machines

Good communication skills in English, including the ability to read, write and comprehend

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to troubleshoot

Demonstrates exceptional  teamwork

Ability to drive others to exceed goals

Ability to work with independently in a high volume, fast paced work atmosphere

Basic skills in MS Office Suite

Ability to work overtime, as scheduled

College Level manufacturing certification

Complies with lean standards of manufacturing
