Tiffany & Co. is seeking an IT Director - Data Engineering in Parsippany, NJ. As part of our Enterprise Information Management team, this position will lead the design and development of data and analytics solutions on an AWS hosted platform, build and motivate a high performing team of data engineers, advise and inform the executive team regarding technology solutions that can maximize business value, and provide necessary leadership to establish the strategic framework for success. This leader will need to have strong collaboration skills to promote cross-functional partnerships with Architecture, Infrastructure, Testing, and other shared services teams and champion change while delivering measurable results.
The IT Director - Data Engineering will be the team leader and technical subject matter expert, including mentorship of engineering team via architecture design reviews, code reviews, etc. S/He will have overall responsibility for technical development and support related to Tiffany’s Enterprise Data Hub (EDH – AWS-based data management platform) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (on prem EDW). The position will develop and implement a strategy for migrating key data and functionality from our legacy Enterprise Data Warehouse solution to our Enterprise Data Hub, so that the EDW can be retired, while developing strategic technology plans linked to key business objectives.
The IT Director - Data Engineering will establish the technical direction for the team, working closely with implementation and support partners, driving the necessary changes and making appropriate technology choices, while working collaboratively with the Architecture team. S/He will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define technical requirements and design based on the business requirements. S/He will champion a shift towards a DevOps mentality, emphasizing continuous integration, release management and automated testing to maximize development agility and improve time to market This role will communicate appropriately and manage relationships with external vendors to determine technical competence and identify integration opportunities.
An understanding of large scale computing solutions, including software design and development, database architectures, IP networking, security, and performance tuning
Knowledge of cloud security, orchestration, management.
Strong communication skills include communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
Experience working a global retail environment preferred
Experience with Apache Spark and/or PySpark and real time streaming platforms, such as AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka/Storm is ideal
Experience with CDC technologies, such as IBM CDC, Informatica Power Exchange, etc. is preferred
Experience with big data ETL technologies, such as Informatica BDM, Talend, SnapLogic, Matillion, etc. is ideal
