  • Overview

    Tiffany & Co. is seeking a Business Analyst, Innovation out of our New York City offices. The primary purpose of the Business Analyst – Innovation is to gather and document business requirements to support retail technology initiatives. The Business Analyst is responsible for developing a deep knowledge of supported business areas, conducting business requirement sessions/interviews, documenting current and to-be process flows and creating detailed requirements documents. S/He will provide guidance for improving business processes by coming up with creative and alternative approaches to solving business problems while managing the scope and user expectations by ensuring requirements can be met within existing project budgets and timeframes. S/He will also assist Project Managers in the management of project deadlines and schedules. In doing so, the Business Analyst is called upon to ensure the quality of deliverables and serve as competent, effective member of project teams.

    Responsibilities

    The Business Analyst, Innovation will work with the cross-functional teams on pilots and foundational projects as a key resource to collect and deeply understand and document the requirements for IT and operational solutions. The role will use data modelling practices to analyze findings from teams, projects, and initiatives, and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes. With support of the Project Manager, s/he will identify the processes and information technology required to introduce recommendations.


    The Business Analyst will produce written documentation to support his/her work, report on findings and to present to stakeholders when necessary. S/he will work with the retail team, vendors, and IT teams to ensure the needs are properly translated into technical requirements, and serve as a day to day member of the retail PMO providing support to ensure consistent application of enterprise program management best practices. The position will work with the program leadership by taking responsibility for the development of any deliverables, and raise issues with leadership that may affect the quality of delivery or timelines.

     

    Finally, the position will provide analytical support to drive closure of any issues, support the development of leadership presentations and other documents as necessary for key work streams, take ownership to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards, and assist in market and technology research and any other ad-hoc analysis.

    Qualifications

    • 4 years of related consulting and/or industry business analyst experience showing a track record progression and increased responsibilities
    • Outstanding analytical capability and the ability to synthesize findings articulate recommendations on the path forward
    • Demonstrated data management and data modeling skills
    • Ability to learn quickly to develop understanding of key technology and operations issues within the luxury retail sector
    • Knowledge of retail systems and processes 
    • The ability to operate independently in a consensus driven team environment
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to capture issues and action items during meetings, workshops and interviews
    • Extremely collaborative working style, willing to jump in and help members across the team be successful in their work
    • Highly entrepreneurial with the ability to work independently as required
    • Comfortable working in a fast paced and unstructured environment
    • Independent thinker, with the confidence to express opinions and ask challenging questions
    • Problem solver, not an order taker with a strong bias towards action and fast time to output

    Preferred Experience:

    • Prior experience working at a top consulting firm. 
    • Agile experience as a Certified Scrum Master and/or Certified Product Owner 
    • Product Management experience 
    • Collaborating with design and creative teams 
    • Experience with Design Thinking methodology
