Overview

Tiffany & Co. is currently seeking a Director - Program Management in Parsippany, NJ.  This position will report into the Senior Director - IT Project Management Office, and be responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing and leading all aspects of program & project management in support of Tiffany & Co.’s “Retail Foundation” global transformation initiative. This role will lead multiple project work streams; allocating and monitoring tasks, motivating staff while applying project management methodology, tools, and techniques in support of transitioning the Retail Foundation strategic initiative from high level Solution Architecture phase through project delivery/realization. 

Responsibilities

The Director - Program Management and oversees/manages the daily execution of activities across all program tracks/work streams (e.g., estimation, scoping, build, deployment, budget, staffing, vendor management), including integrating business and IT work efforts, as well as integrating internal partners and 3rd party service provider work efforts.  S/He will develop and lead  the fully integrated program schedule/project plan while reviewing project tasks, schedules, and resources and make changes or additions, as appropriate.  S/He will measure and evaluate progress against the program schedule/project plan while resolving deviations (jointly with project team members) from the schedule.

 

The Director will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and ensuring the quality of core program/project management deliverables, including but not limited to program/project charter, project schedules, RAID logs, status reports and other key stakeholder presentations/communication.   This position will develop materials submitted by the project team in accordance with an agreed upon acceptance procedures and the MSA/SOW, as applicable.  S/He will execute effective project management control activities including: scope change control, issue resolution, risk management, status reporting, project budget management.  This includes identifying issues, risks, and scope changes requiring oversight; ensuring timely resolution and appropriate escalation; preparing and presenting any recommended scope change documents for approval to the Project Steering Committee; leading team project status meetings; ensuring completion and delivery of status report; and being responsible for effective project budget/financial forecasting.  Additionally, this role will participate in periodic stage gate/pre-implementation project quality reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Management
  • Must have a strong project management or application development background
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience leading large scale projects, preferably in a global company
  • Experience with integration to a major ERP system is required; J.D. Edwards, Oracle and /or SAP are preferred
  • Functional project management expertise (e.g., issue/risk resolution, dependency identification, financial tracking, scheduling, resource management, capacity planning)
  • Experience with traditional “waterfall” methodologies, as well as experience with more iterative/agile project management methods
  • Experience with formal SDLC processes and a track record to drive SDLC improvements to accelerate project deliverables
  • Strong communications skills; ability to interact with senior leadership, must be able to communicate technical issues in business terms so that senior leadership can evaluate options and make sound decisions
  • Structured problem solving skills; ability to identify high-impact issues/risk for executive review
  • Strategic thinking; ability to objectively align tactical work efforts with enterprise goals/objectives
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of PPM and other project management tools (MS Project, ServiceNow) 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (esp PowerPoint)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification preferred
