Responsibilities

  • Determine the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing products from start to finish, meeting customer requirements. Participate in assuring application of sound engineering, tooling, and planning principles to manufacturing processes in order to meet established production and man-hour targets.
  • Analyze engineering design documentation and establishing the optimal manufacturing method and processes to manufacture products and components. Evaluate the effect of engineering change proposals as required. Create 3D models as needed from 2D engineering drawings for use in programming, along with all supporting documentation for clear and concise machine tool operator instructions. 
  • Knowledge and ability to do on-line NC programming.
  • Develop new and improved manufacturing techniques. Set up and operate CNC machines, setting, selecting, and loading cutting tools.
  • Effectively use all Precision measuring instruments.
  • Will be required to assist in training less experienced CNC machinists.
  • Support manufacturing with technical data required to maintain production schedules.
  • Initiate requests for engineering drawing changes to correct drawing error, eliminate production problems, or to facilitate the utilization of existing processes.
  • Solve technical manufacturing problems.
  • Evaluate capitol equipment proposals as required.
  • Initiate tooling and planning change requests to improve manufacturing production.
  • Investigate and evaluate proposed engineering solutions to customer requests for quotation.
  • Ownership of CNC Machining Programming, Maintenance, Tools inventory, etc.
  • Keep abreast of latest manufacturing technology.
  • Maintain safe practices in all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of metal components manufacturing experience with proven track records and familiarity with trouble shooting and safety practices.
  • Must be experienced in CNC Milling machining operations, assembly, and shop math, including algebra, trigonometry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience. Will accept a candidate with less than five years of experience if the candidate has 2 years of state-of-the-art equipment and tooling experience.
  • Must have strong experience in CNC programming from baseline through– 5 Axis equipment.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles, including work load balancing, cycle time and one piece flow.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational and communications skills.
  • Proven track record of working successfully with diverse work teams.
  • Programming to include MASTERCAM, HURCO WINMAX. Post processor experience a plus, SolidWorks, Rhino, CAM software, including part modeling, MS Project and PC literacy.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:


BSIE/BSME or equivalent experience
