Lead costing development and analysis from initial estimate through final cost validation for engineering projects and new products.  Work closely with various departments, including Accounting, Planning, New Product Development, and Inventory Control, to develop accurate and consistent costing methods. Lead engineering capital projects administration, including the annual budgeting process and regular spend tracking.

  • Provide engineering project budgets, costs and business case studies working with the engineering and purchasing teams.  Develop detailed cost analysis needed to support business plans.  Prepare presentations collaborating with engineering teams for business case reviews.
  • Track and report capital project progress collaborating with engineering, purchasing and finance teams.
  • Track and report engineering department metric related data.
  • Develop and support engineering annual budget process.  Review and report progress monthly collaborating with finance, purchasing and engineering teams.  Provide guidance for teams to maintain budget plans.
  • Lead new product costing process from initial estimate through final cost.  Generate accurate manufacturing and tooling estimates in relation to similar and/or existing product.
  • Identify and gather all pertinent cost factors, i.e. designs, manufacturing drawings and specifications, material, scrap, time study information, equipment, process, labor and overhead to develop accurate new and existing product cost information.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or other technical discipline, i.e. mathematics, and 3- 5 years related experience
  • Strong analytical and technical skills: advanced math and statistics
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel, and Project
  • Experience or training in statistical process analysis
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical manufacturing documentation
  • Ability to monitor and interpret schedules and other project changes and forecast their impact on project costs.
  • Understanding of project risk management concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JDE or business equivalent enterprise resource planning software
  • Experience utilizing formal estimating software
